![]() The H-motif is repeated on the dashboard, which has a Panoramic Curved Display that includes a 12.3-inch digital cluster. Fortunately, there are aspects of the inside of the Hyundai that are still unique. The Korean SUV has a similar horizontal design theme to the dashboard, while the tilted touch display lower down with two dials for climate control settings is similar to what we've seen in some Land Rovers before their latest update. Whether it's a coincidence or not, we can see more Land Rover design influence in the interior of the Hyundai Sante Fe. With highway driving assist, the Santa Fe can maintain a speed and distance from the preceding car, and also assist with highway lane changes. This system's infrared camera on the steering column tracks the driver's eye gaze to monitor attentiveness. ![]() One of these, forward attention warning, is a first for Hyundai in North America. ![]() With the towing package, the Sante Fe will be able to haul up to 4,500 lbs.Ī long list of standard and available driver-assistance features will be on offer. The hybrid, which is less powerful and likely weighs more, is expected to be a bit slower. No 0-60 mph sprint times have been claimed, but the 277-hp engine should be able to complete the benchmark sprint in just over six seconds. Hyundai did not specify if the HTRAC all-wheel-drive system is standard or optional, but the badge appears on the tailgate of models pictured here. This engine comes with a six-speed automatic. Arriving later is a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid producing 232 hp and 271 lb-ft combined. It produces 277 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Two engine choices will be on offer for the Hyundai Santa Fe, starting with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mill as standard. The 11-strong palette includes Phantom Black, Serenity White Pearl, Shimmering Silver, Ecotronic Gray with pearl or matte finishes, Ultimate Red, Earthy Brass (another matte finish), Hampton Gray, Terracotta Orange, and Rockwood Green. When open, Hyundai claims the Sante Fe offers a terrace-like feel and complements an outdoor lifestyle. This enlarged tailgate provides uninterrupted access to the cargo area, but it also looks big enough to land a helicopter on, so care will probably have to be taken when opening it. The H-shaped taillights mirror those in front, and they're positioned low down below a giant slab of tailgate with enormous Sante Fe script across it. After all, this is the company that has revealed the aggressive Ioniq 5 N, expressive Ioniq 6, and futuristic Sonata in recent months. Maybe we shouldn't be surprised about the distinctive and challenging exterior design of the new Hyundai Santa Fe SUV.
